12/1/07

not much to report. everything's the same as it has been the past 2 weeks. we were hoping to get out on the bike today. we thought it was supposed to be frikkin cold, but that's all. last night i went to top (top foods, a grocery store) and i have this huge tub of cookie dough under 1 arm, and i'm reaching in to grab a ben&jerry's carton when i have this amusing thought. here i am, a single female in a grocery store at 10pm on a friday night, it's 35f outside, and i have a huge tub of cookie dough and a thing of ice cream only in my hands. that's got to mean 1 of 2 things, right? LOL. i wonder how many people thought i was pregnant -or buying for a pregnant person, and how many thought i had just broken up with my boyfriend! oh well. anyway, i knew if it rained overnight we'd get snow it was so cold out. i woke up briefly around 6 this am. there was just enough daylight to see white on the green trees through the window. sure enough, when we woke up there was a couple inches of snow on the ground. guess we won't be going out on the bike today. in case there was any doubt, around 1pm this afternoon it started snowing again. huge flakes, and lots of them! it's been snowing solid ever since and right now there's no sign of it letting up. for december 1st it's rather wonderful. i'd love nothing more today than to stay on the couch, watch movies and hockey, fire burning in the fireplace... but i agreed to sub for a wedding tonight in puyallup. yay. for those of you who don't know where that is, imagine my place in ft. worth, picking up someone at hulen mall, then driving to NE dallas for a gig. gig starts at 7.30, i have to leave my house at 4, what with the snow and all. at least it's a saturday and we won't have rush hour traffic. whew! oh well, it's a paying gig and i haven't had many of them this year. i'm really going to have to get out and pound the pavement to let people know i'm back in the gig-taking mode next year. i really wold like to be able to earn at least a somewhat respectable earning for at least 1 year doing music. in fact, i better start paying attention to the time, i've less than an hour until i have to leave...
